The facility-equipped building of District Hospital Phaplu located at the headquarters has been inaugurated. The building was inaugurated at a cost of 21 crores and 21 lakhs by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of Nepal.
The building, equipped with elevators, was jointly inaugurated by District Coordination Committee Chief Krishna Prasad Niraula and Solu Dudhakund Municipality Mayor Namgyal Jangbu Sherpa. The construction of the building, which started on 27th January 2076, was handed over to the hospital on 25th June. Addressing the building inauguration program, Mayor Namgyal Jangbu Sherpa said that after a long time, the district has succeeded in constructing a well-equipped hospital building. He said that it is necessary to bring quality to the service along with the facility-rich building.
Established by Sir Edmund hillary in B.S 2025, phaplu Hospital is spread over an area of 64 ropani. According to the hospital administration, the newly constructed building has an area of 7 ropani. Since the hospital did not have its own building with facilities, services were being provided from the old building for decades. It is believed that after the building is operational, the hospital will be freed from having to provide services from the narrow building. However, the hospital management committee said that when the government reduced the number of employees which has faced challenges in service delivery.
