When we hear the word "family," we typically picture a pleasant family consisting of a father, mother, and small children. Chhiring Sherpa, one of the first heroine of the Sherpa society, had a slightly different understanding of family. Since she was a child, she has only ever seen her mother around her. Chhiring actually spent her early years looking for her father. A year or so after her birth, her father passed away. Chhiring's mother experienced a lack of affection from both her husband and her family when her husband passed away when she was still a young woman. Instead, the days of his adversity started. Chhiring began questioning her mother about her father at a young age. She had positive thought about her father. But only her mother was aware of her father's true nature.
Chhiring doesn't even have a current photo of her father. But she never forgets the value of a father in her household. Chhiring had a tag when he was younger, like many Sherpas do. Specifically, "Sherpas only climb mountains." Chhiring turned to art as a means of challenging that innate tag. Her mother was forced to deal with criticism from the public while she was dancing. Because of this, her mother was unable to develop a strong interest in the arts in her. However, her mother is now satisfied with Chhiring's achievement.
